National Office for Research and Technology (NKTH)
KPI is the national innovation funding agency of Hungary established July 2003 by decree of the Hungarian Ministry of Education. It is an independent organisation operated under the auspices of the National Office for Research and Technology. KPI executes RDTI programme tasks financed from the National Innovation Fund or from the Structural Funds, which means the whole project management from the selection process to the project closure. KPI’s mission is to implement innovation supporting strategies while providing assistance to projects to ensure successful completion with regard to efficient and effective utilisation of public funds. RTDI resources of the Structural Funds are involved in the Economic Competitiveness Operational Programme in which there are six calls for proposals. One of them is the Competence Reseach Center Programme.
KPI has 19 running CRC programmes, 5 funded from the National Innovation Fund, 14 funded from the Structural Funds.
