CEUC Programmes in support of CRCs
CEUC, the Regional Ministry for Enterprise, Universities and Science, supports a network of 14 CRCs in the Region (www.redit.es) through 3 specific programmes implemented by IMPIVA the Regional Agency for SMEs, with 24,4 M€ in 2006.
These CRCs are Technology Institutes providing advanced RTD services to industries in specific sectors relevant to the Regional Economy. Therefore, the programmes in support of these CRCs have a clear industrial orientation and are mainly led by the different sectorial RTD needs.
Each CRC is the result of a partnership between the Regional Government, via CEUC and IMPIVA, and the enterprises in a given sector. In some cases, Universities are part of the partnership. The CRCs are independent legal entities as private, non-profit organisations and they have the legal status under Spanish Law as Associations for Research.
For most CRCs, IMPIVA provides the land and buildings and also funds part of the activity of the CRC through the Programmes in support of the TIs. The proportion of public Regional Government funding varies from one CRC to another, ranging from 6% to up to 50%.
The funding from the Regional Government is channelled through the following programmes managed by IMPIVA:
