Programme Etortek 2006 (ITT - EUROBULEGOA)
Introduction
Etortek programme was created to generate and create the knowledge required to provide a response to the short term and long term needs and challenges faced by Basque business in order to create value in existing companies, and encourage the establishment of new business activity in emerging and future sectors of the economy.
The objective of this programme is to support the Strategic Research made by the Research, Development and Innovation Entities, integrated in the Basque Network of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Basque Country. Beneficiaries
The integrated Scientific Agents in the Basque Network of Science, Technology and Innovation. Example of members of this network are: The Basque University, and all the Basque CRCs, apart from other research centres and institutions
Funding projects
Projects of Strategic Investigation are considered those ones of basic research, of scientific-technological and social prospective, in emerging subjects contemplated in the frame of Strategic Performance areas within the Plan de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación del Gobierno Vasco
(Plan of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Basque Government) or in the Scientific-Technological Policies of the European Union, developed in cooperation by agents of the Basque Network of Science and Technology belonging or associated to two or more Corporations or Scientific Alliances of the Basque Country, collaborating, in their case, with the Basque Universities.
Projects of Strategic Investigation are considered those ones of oriented basic-fundamental research made by the agents of the Basque Network of Science, Technology and Innovation, that can contemplate: training plans of high level in centres and institutions of reference in the matter or with an important component of international cooperation and/or oriented to extend the knowledge in the areas that by their strong potential demand in the mid and long term, belong to the Strategic Research programmes within the frame of the Plan of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Basque Government.
The projects include activities of the following type:
- Research and development activities, that is to say, systematic works (original, experimental or theoretical) based on existing knowledge or no, obtained by means of investigation and/or practical experience, made with the purpose of acquiring new knowledge on the foundation of the phenomena and the observed facts, alternatively, directed to an application or certain use.
- Infrastructure Generation and acquisition of advanced scientific equipment.
- High level training and qualification activities of the research team
- Activities related to the sign of cooperative international agreements.
- Activities of scientific and technological use.
- Stays abroad of researchers and technologists belonging to Agents of the Basque Network of Science, Technology and Innovation in Centres of excellence.
- Stays of researchers and technologists of international prestige belonging to Agents of the Basque Network of Science, Technology and Innovation.
- Recovery of the scientific researchers trained abroad.
- Promotion of the scientific research.
The projects are considered on the basis of the integration of scientific and technological scopes and will be able to have a pluri-annual character.
Quantity of the aids
The aids to grant have the nature of non-returnable funding, and will have the consideration of subventions in competitive concurrence.
The budget of the project in 2005 was 21,7 M €
